Tomorrow (August 3), the First Extraordinary Session of the 16th National Assembly will officially open in Hanoi.
According to the plan, the Meeting will be organized in a centralized meeting format and divided into 2 phases: Phase 1 from August 3 to the morning of August 13; Phase 2 from August 19 to August 24, 2026.
This session, the National Assembly will consider and decide on 33 contents, including considering and approving 15 draft laws, 4 draft legal normative resolutions; giving initial opinions on 7 draft laws; considering and deciding on 7 contents on important issues of the country.
Typically, the National Assembly considered and passed the Law on Petroleum (amended); the Law on Urban Development; the Law on Prevention and Control of Mass Destructive Weapons; the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of 10 laws related to administrative procedures and business conditions in the fields of agriculture and environment; the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of 9 laws on military and national defense.
The National Assembly also considered and approved legal normative resolution projects such as: Resolution of the National Assembly stipulating specific mechanisms and policies to remove difficulties and obstacles in the implementation of projects and works serving the APEC 2027 Summit in Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province; Resolution of the National Assembly on specific mechanisms to handle some difficulties and obstacles for wind and solar power projects.
Along with that, at this session, the National Assembly will give initial opinions on draft laws such as: Penal Code (amended); Criminal Procedure Code (amended); Real Estate Business Law (amended); Land Law (amended); Housing Law (amended); State Budget Law (integrated); Law on Organization of Criminal Investigation Agencies (amended).
In particular, some important issues considered and decided by the National Assembly are personnel work under its authority; Investment policy for the Project to invest in the construction of Ring Road 5 - Hanoi Capital Region; Adjusting investment policy for the Project to invest in the construction of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line; Establishing Quang Ninh city directly under the Central Government; Establishing Bac Ninh city directly under the Central Government; Some contents related to the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Plant Project...
