On the morning of June 5, Central Party Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha - Chairman of the National Civil Aviation Security Committee - chaired a meeting on ensuring aviation security and safety in the first 5 months of 2025.
According to the report of the Ministry of Public Security, in the first 5 months of the year, the civil aviation security situation in Vietnam was basically guaranteed, preventing serious incidents that threatened the security and safety of the civil aviation sector.
Since receiving the task of ensuring aviation security, the Ministry of Public Security has received information and handled 49 violations of aviation security at 22 airports nationwide.
The documents of the aviation security program and regulations have been updated when there are changes in operations and have been newly issued by the aviation security authority.
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha asked the Ministry of Public Security to complete the report on the results of the tasks and tasks assigned to members of the Committee after the meeting on February 25, 2025.
In particular, the work of inspecting and identifying technical loopholes in ensuring network information security and safety, clarifying responsibilities, solutions and roadmaps for overcoming them.
The Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Public Security continue to exchange and agree on the transfer of functions and tasks to ensure aviation security, which clearly identifies the Commission's Unit agency; Urgently submit the authority to the plan to consolidate the organizational model and operational regulations of the Committee.
The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Public Security to review and propose solutions to ensure the synchronization of machinery, equipment, and humans in the aviation security control system.
Strengthen coordination and cohesion between security forces and other forces on duty at airports; expand the subjects and methods of controlling aviation security and safety as recommended by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The Ministry of National Defense coordinates with the Ministry of Public Security to research and develop solutions on legality, technology and investment in technical equipment and means.
At the same time, mobilize the socio-political system and people to participate in detecting, preventing and early prevention of risks of insecurity and aviation safety right from the grassroots area.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha also assigned the Ministry of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Home Affairs to study the model of the Aircraft Incident Investigation Council operating independently, objectively, with clear functions and tasks, including experts from many fields, with modern equipment in accordance with the recommendations of ICAO; build a close cooperation mechanism with the investigation agencies of aircraft incidents and accidents of other countries.
