On May 23, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam said that the unit had sent a document to Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC (ACV) and other units regarding the exploitation of Terminal T3, Tan Son Nhat airport.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam received information from press agencies about some shortcomings arising in connection with the T3 Terminal - Tan Son Nhat International Airport project, affecting the quality of aviation services provided at the Terminal.
Accordingly, to ensure the quality of passenger service at T3 Passenger Terminal, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requests the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) and Tan Son Nhat International Airport to review all issues arising in the process of exploiting and using the T3 Passenger Terminal project; urgently deploy solutions to handle and overcome the quality of passenger terminal exploitation services and ground commercial service services at T3 Passenger Terminal to ensure safety and convenience for passengers.
At the same time, units need to coordinate with airlines to promptly provide information and notify the plan to convert and operate the T3 Passenger Terminal to passengers traveling by train to ensure that passengers have full information about the terminals used for flights of airlines.
The Department also assigned the Southern Airports Authority to strengthen the supervision of the quality of passenger terminal exploitation services, ground-level commercial service services at Passenger Terminal T3 and promptly report to the Department on arising difficulties and problems for timely handling.
As Lao Dong Newspaper has reported, recently, some passengers traveling and arriving at Tan Son Nhat airport said that the brick foundation at Terminal T3 has many sections that have been unpacked and patched.

According to the actual records of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters in the outer and inner halls of Terminal T3, many sections of the bricks were peeling, cracked, broken or discolored. Some areas have not been completely dredged or patched in a lack of synchronization, revealing long gaps.
Previously, on the evening of May 7, the waiting hall of the T3 Terminal also had an incident where rainwater leaked from the roof, forcing employees to use buckets, towels and mops to handle the situation.
Tan Son Nhat T3 Terminal has a total investment of more than VND 11,000 billion, started construction at the end of 2022 and inaugurated on April 19, 2025, 2 months ahead of schedule. The terminal has a designed capacity of 20 million passengers/year and is expected to reduce the pressure on Terminal T1, which has been overloaded for many years.
