Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh requested to review and evaluate the overall display and conservation of national treasures nationwide.

In Official Dispatch No. 5101/VPCP-KGVX dated June 10, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries, agencies and localities to review and evaluate the overall work of displaying, preserving, protecting, ensuring security and safety of national treasures nationwide.

In addition, it is necessary to promptly guide, inspect, and inspect the work of preserving, restoring, and embellishing relics and heritages to ensure effective management, protection, and promotion of the value of heritages and relics; report to competent authorities for issues beyond their authority before June 30, 2025.

Recently, there have been a number of cases of national treasure being encroached upon. Faced with this situation, the Prime Minister has directed the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to strengthen measures to ensure the absolute safety of national treasures.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has also issued an official dispatch to ministries, branches, and socio-political organizations at the central level, People's Committees of provinces and cities requesting the review and assessment of the current status of display, preservation, protection and measures to ensure security and safety for national treasures under their direct management; at the same time, continue to strengthen the protection, preservation and promotion of the value of national treasures.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasizes measures to prevent and combat theft, fire, explosion, natural disasters and other risks of damage to ensure absolute safety for national treasures.

According to the Law on Cultural Heritage and the Prime Minister's decisions, national treasures are artifacts of outstanding special value, representing the spirit, identity and intelligence of the Vietnamese people through historical periods.

Up to now, the whole country has more than 300 national treasures recognized through 13 times, many of which are thousands of years old such as Ngoc Lu bronze dong, Dao Thinh bronze Thap, the thousand-eyed Buddha statue of But Thap pagoda, Vinh Lang stele in Lam Kinh...

Not only does it have unique historical, scientific and artistic value, each treasure is also a vivid testament to the process of building and defending the country of our ancestors. Therefore, protecting and promoting the value of these treasures is not only the responsibility of the cultural sector but also a common duty of the whole society.
