The National Assembly Standing Committee passed a Resolution amending Clause 1, Article 1 of Resolution No. 57/2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee approving the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court on the organizational arrangement of the apparatus, according to the Government Electronic Information Portal on the afternoon of February 11.
Resolution No. 57/2024 dated November 15, 2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee approving the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court on departments, offices and equivalent units, press agencies of the Supreme People's Court, accordingly, the Supreme People's Court has 11 departments, offices and equivalent units; 02 press agencies.
Continuing to review and reorganize the apparatus according to Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW in the People's Court, the Supreme People's Court found that the Southern Affairs Department is currently performing part of the tasks of the Office of the Supreme People's Court.
Therefore, it is necessary to merge the Southern Affairs Department into the Office of the Supreme People's Court in accordance with the policy of restructuring the apparatus according to the current Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the Party.
Pursuant to Clause 1, Article 146 of the Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents, the Supreme People's Court proposed that the National Assembly Standing Committee amend Clause 1, Article 1 of Resolution No. 57/2024/UBTVQH15 in the direction of removing point k, Clause 1 on the Southern Affairs Department, according to the simplified procedure.
The proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court to merge the Southern Affairs Department into the Office of the Supreme People's Court is considered a result of summarizing the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW; ensuring compliance with the Party's policy on streamlining the organizational apparatus.
The Standing Committee of the National Assembly accordingly approved the Resolution on amending Clause 1, Article 1 of Resolution No. 57/2024 dated November 15, 2024 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly approving the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court on departments, offices and equivalents, and press agencies of the Supreme People's Court.
Including merging the Southern Affairs Department into the Supreme People's Court Office.
