On the morning of December 5, Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee held a ceremony to announce the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Lam Dong province for the period 2023 - 2025.
In which, merging 3 districts of Da Huoai, Da Teh, Cat Tien into the new district of Da Huoai.
In which, the entire natural area of 426.71km2, population of 44,783 people of Cat Tien district and the entire natural area of 526.73km2, population of 57,194 people of Da Teh district will be merged into the new district of Da Huoai.
After the merger, Da Huoai district has a natural area of 1,448.48 km2 and a population of 146,064 people.
Merge Doan Ket commune and Da P'loa commune to form a new commune called Ba Gia commune; merge Ha Lam commune and Phuoc Loc commune to form Ha Lam commune; merge Da Ton commune and Da Oai commune to form Da Oai commune; Trieu Hai commune and Quang Tri commune to form Quang Tri commune, all belonging to the new Da Huoai district.
The administrative center of Da Hoai district after the merger is located in Da Teh town.
At the announcement ceremony, Acting Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thai Hoc hoped that the new Da Huoai district would have a path of development and needed to unite to develop together.
The place name Da Huoai was formed in 1979 on the basis of the separation of Bao Loc district into Bao Loc district and Da Huoai district.
In 1986, Da Huoai district continued to be divided into Da Huoai, Da Teh and Cat Tien districts to this day.
