On December 3, Rach Gia City People's Committee (Kien Giang province) announced to agencies, units, organizations and individuals about the headquarters and operating time of Vinh Thanh Van Ward People's Committee after the ward merger.
The headquarters of the Party Committee, People's Council, Fatherland Front Committee, and socio-political organizations of Vinh Thanh Van ward after the merger will be located at 30 Thu Khoa Nghia Street, Vinh Thanh Van Ward, Rach Gia City (ie the headquarters of the Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee of Vinh Thanh Van ward before).
The headquarters of Vinh Thanh Van Ward People's Committee after the merger is located at 54 Co Bac, Vinh Thanh Van Ward, Rach Gia City (former headquarters of Vinh Bao Ward People's Committee).
Regarding the time of operation, Vinh Thanh Van People's Committee will officially operate on December 4, 2024.
Previously, on November 29, Rach Gia City People's Committee held a ceremony to announce Resolution No. 1247/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated October 24, 2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Kien Giang province for the period 2023 - 2025.
According to this Resolution, Rach Gia City will merge the entire natural area and population of Vinh Bao Ward into Vinh Thanh Van Ward. After the merger, Vinh Thanh Van Ward has a natural area of 1.99 km2 and a population of 27,429 people.
Thus, after the arrangement, Rach Gia City has 11 commune-level administrative units, including 10 wards and 1 commune. Kien Giang Province has 15 district-level administrative units, including 12 districts and 3 cities; 143 commune-level administrative units, including 116 communes, 17 wards and 10 towns.
