On April 9, the leaders of Bac Lieu City, Bac Lieu Province submitted a plan to reorganize communes and wards. The plan is sent to the Department of Home Affairs for submission to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
It is expected that Bac Lieu city will have 4 administrative units including: Bac Lieu ward, on the basis of merging wards 1, 3, 7, and 8 wards; Nha Mat ward on the basis of merging wards 2, Nha Mat ward, Hiep Thanh commune; Vinh Trach ward on the basis of merging wards 5 and Vinh Trach commune; Vinh Trach Dong commune will remain in its current state.
The leaders of Bac Lieu city also said that the information previously stated that Bac Lieu city only had two administrative units after the merger: Bac Lieu ward and Bac Lieu commune is unofficial.
According to the plan submitted to competent authorities for decision, Bac Lieu city does not have Bac Lieu commune.
