At the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee Huynh Huu Tri announced the Resolution recently issued by the Provincial People's Council on the arrangement of specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee.
Accordingly, the Department of Finance will be established on the basis of merging the Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Finance; the Department of Science and Technology will be established on the basis of merging the Department of Information and Communications with the Department of Science and Technology; the Department of Ethnicity and Religion will be established on the basis of the Department of Ethnicity and Religion; the Department of Construction will be established on the basis of merging the Department of Transport with the Department of Construction; the Department of Home Affairs will be established on the basis of merging the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs with the Department of Home Affairs; the Department of Agriculture and Environment will be established on the basis of merging the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
The reorganized units will officially come into operation starting from March 1.

Also at the conference, the Decision on personnel work of the Provincial People's Committee and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for 6 newly arranged and merged units was announced. Specifically: Appointed Mr. Huynh Cong Quan to the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Finance; appointed Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung to the position of Director of the Department of Construction; appointed Mr. Bui Thanh Toan to the position of Director of the Department of Science and Technology; appointed Mr. Tu Minh Phuc to the position of Director of the Department of Home Affairs; appointed Mr. Luu Hoang Ly to the position of Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment; assigned Mr. To Thanh Phuong to the position of Acting Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

The Provincial People's Committee has also announced the decision to approve and resolve the early retirement wish for 6 comrades who are leaders of departments and branches subject to arrangement and consolidation this time.
Speaking at the conference, Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thieu emphasized: The work of reorganizing the apparatus and cadres according to Resolution 18 has been urgently and drastically implemented by the province. It is recommended that comrades appointed by the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and assigned tasks to newly arranged and merged units need to make more efforts to approach many new tasks to operate the unit more effectively, and advise the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on new areas that are more effective. In particular, when units come into operation, heads must quickly develop plans, action programs, regulations, and rules, build a united collective so that the unit can operate smoothly and continuously in a streamlined, effective and efficient manner.
With new roles and tasks, units need to innovate effectively, contributing to the province in carrying out the political task for the Central Government of creating high growth momentum in 2025 (over 9%). At the same time, Party committees, units and localities need to stabilize the ideology, cadres, civil servants and public employees; focus on successfully organizing Party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term.
