The National Assembly Standing Committee has just approved the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels for the 2023-2025 period of 12 provinces and cities.
Localities considered for administrative unit arrangement in this period include: An Giang, Dong Thap, Ha Nam, Hanoi, Ha Tinh, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Tho, Son La, Quang Ngai, Quang Tri, Tra Vinh, Vinh Phuc.
In Ha Nam, according to the project to arrange commune-level administrative units in the 2023-2025 period, Phu Ly City will merge the entire natural area and population size of Liem Chung commune (with a natural area of 3,383km², reaching 16.11% of the standard; population size of 8,888 people, reaching 111.10% of the standard) and Liem Chinh ward (with a natural area of 3,317km², reaching 60.31% of the standard; population size of 8,127 people, reaching 116.10% of the standard) to establish Liem Chinh ward.
Notably, after its establishment, Liem Chinh ward had a natural area of 6.70km², reaching 121.82% of the standard, and a population of 17,015 people, reaching 243.07% of the standard.
Phu Ly City (Ha Nam) also merged the entire natural area and population of Tien Hai commune (with a natural area of 4,142km², reaching 19.7% of the standard; population size of 5,188 people, reaching 64.85% of the standard) and Lam Ha ward (with a natural area of 6,271km², reaching 114% of the standard; population size of 9,686 people, reaching 138.37% of the standard) to establish Lam Ha ward.
After establishment, Lam Ha ward has a natural area of 10,413km2, reaching 189.33% of the standard, population size: 14,874 people, reaching 212.49% of the standard.
