On April 24, the Standing Committee of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee held an extraordinary meeting of the Provincial Party Committee.
At this Conference, delegates focused on discussing the Projects: Arrangement of commune-level administrative units; ending the activities of district and city party committees under the province and establishing commune and ward party committees under the Provincial Party Committee; arrangement of Tien Giang and Dong Thap provinces; discussing the implementation of party congresses at all levels.
According to the draft Project on reorganizing commune-level administrative units of the province (after consulting the people, with a unified ratio of over 96%), Dong Thap province still has 45 commune-level administrative units (including 7 wards, 38 communes), reducing 96 commune-level and ward-level administrative units, reaching a rate of 68.09%. All communes and wards must ensure the principles and criteria of arrangement according to regulations.
The delegates basically agreed with the draft project of arranging administrative units at the commune level of Dong Thap province and the contents of the reports; Proposing the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee soon to guide the implementation of the tasks and arrange officials for new units after arranging; Proposing to strengthen the direction of internal political security for localities in the arrangement process, ... After the discussion, the delegates voted through the contents of the reports and results, achieving a high unified rate.
Dong Thap Provincial Party Secretary Le Quoc Phong said that the development of the Project on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in the province has been carefully implemented, in accordance with the direction of the Central Government and has organized a public consultation with high consensus results.
The work progress is urgent, therefore, in the spirit of not waiting, all levels, sectors and localities immediately start preparing facilities and working conditions after the arrangement; calculate surplus facilities after the arrangement to avoid waste.
The Provincial Party Committee will soon have instructions for localities in implementation; will closely coordinate with Tien Giang province to implement the Project to merge the two provinces to submit to the Central Government soon.
