The Resolution was passed on June 16. Accordingly, after the arrangement, Quang Tri province has 78 commune-level administrative units, including 69 communes, 8 wards and 1 special zone; of which 68 communes, 8 wards, 1 special zone formed after the arrangement and 1 commune that does not implement the arrangement is Tan Thanh commune (Minh Hoa district).
The competent authorities urgently carry out necessary preparations to ensure that local authorities in commune-level administrative units formed after the arrangement officially operate from July 1, 2025.
Local authorities in commune-level administrative units before the reorganization will continue to operate until the local government in commune-level administrative units is formed after the reorganization and officially operates.
"The Government, the People's Council, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, local authorities, administrative units related to the implementation of the arrangement and other relevant agencies and organizations are responsible for organizing the implementation of this Resolution; arranging and stabilizing the apparatus of local agencies and organizations; stabilizing the lives of local people, ensuring the requirements of socio-economic development, national defense and security in the area.
Assign the Government, based on this Resolution and Project No. 365/DA-CP dated May 9, 2025 of the Government, to organize the accurate determination of the natural area of commune-level administrative units and publicly announce them before September 30, 2025; at the same time, urgently deploy the work of measuring and determining the boundary of administrative units on the field to prepare documents on the boundary of administrative units according to regulations" - the Resolution clearly states.
