On the afternoon of June 29, the working atmosphere at the new headquarters in Soc Trang province took place very urgently, preparing for the official operation of the government apparatus according to the new administrative boundaries starting from July 1, 2025.

Construction units are rushing to complete the installation of nameplates for newly merged wards and communes. At the People's Committee headquarters, civil servants actively arrange and stabilize the organization to ensure that the reception and service to people is smooth from the first day of operation.
It is noted that at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Thanh Thoi An commune (Tran De district, Soc Trang province), the installation of the nameplate has been completed; the painting, repair and arrangement of the working space and network system at the Commune Public Administration Service Center is also in the final stage.
Mr. Nguyen Hai Quan - Chairman of Thanh Thoi An Commune People's Committee said that according to the arrangement project, Thanh Thoi An commune will merge with Thanh Thoi Thuan commune, with the administrative center located at the current headquarters of Thanh Thoi An Commune People's Committee. The locality has demolished the old commune police headquarters to renovate it into a Public Administration Service Center. Thanh Thoi An commune will be transferred to Thanh Thoi Thuan commune, while the old headquarters will be used for the activities of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations. The headquarters of the Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune are reasonably arranged with the upper floors for the Party and the ground floor for the People's Committee, People's Council and functional departments.
On the same afternoon, Chairman of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Tran Van Lau, inspected the trial operation, preparing for official operations in Phu Loi ward (new). He noted that in the transition period, it is necessary to ensure that the workplace and equipment for professional activities are fully arranged, while ensuring smooth access to public administrative services for people. In addition, Mr. Lau also requested attention to environmental sanitation, decoration and flagraising in the administrative area to prepare for the Ceremony to announce the establishment of new communes and wards scheduled to be held on June 30, 2025.
Meanwhile, many people passing through the gate to welcome Soc Trang province stopped to take photos and preserve familiar images for many years before this place officially became Soc Trang ward, Can Tho city.

Mr. Nhat Huy, from Long Phu district (Soc Trang province), shared: "I am living and working in Can Tho city. Today, I have a business trip to Soc Trang province, when I went to the province, I took a photo of a signboard named Soc Trang as a souvenir. I grew up here so I feel a little regretful. However, for the common development of the country, I fully support the decision to merge and believe in the bright future of Can Tho City".
