Leaders of Amazon Group believe and affirm that Vietnam has the potential to become a leading country in the region in technology.

On the afternoon of May 22, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary and President To Lam received Mr. David Zapolsky, Senior Vice President, Legal and Global Relations Director of Amazon Group.

General Secretary and President To Lam welcomed the visit to Vietnam of Amazon Group leaders, congratulated the group's recent successes, and highly appreciated Amazon's investment and business results in Vietnam in recent years, making positive contributions to the development of Vietnam as well as Vietnam-US relations.

General Secretary and President affirmed that Vietnam considers the US as one of the most important partners, and wishes the cooperation between the two countries to continue to develop in accordance with the comprehensive strategic level, in which economic, trade and investment cooperation continues to be the main driving force, and scientific and technological cooperation is a new breakthrough of the relationship.

General Secretary and President emphasized that Vietnam is accelerating the completion of a transparent legal environment, emphasizing the importance of protecting intellectual property rights, creating favorable conditions for investment and business of high-tech enterprises, in the spirit of creating development, associated with transforming the development model based on science and technology.

General Secretary and President affirmed that Vietnam values and is ready to create favorable conditions for US high-tech corporations to invest and do business in Vietnam, based on harmonious interests, contributing to the development of bilateral relations, bringing practical benefits to people and businesses of the two countries.

The General Secretary and President requested Amazon Group to further promote its potential and positive results in investment and business activities in Vietnam, and continue to be an important partner of Vietnam in implementing Resolution 57 on scientific and technological breakthroughs, innovation and digital transformation, making practical contributions in the fields of data infrastructure, artificial intelligence technology and high-quality human resource training in Vietnam.

For his part, Mr. David Zapolsky, Vice President of Amazon Group, expressed his honor to be given time to receive by the General Secretary and President.

Happy to share the results of the group's cooperation in Vietnam, Mr. David Zapolsky believes and affirms that Vietnam has the potential to become a leading country in the region in technology, with a lot of room for cooperation in areas where Amazon has strengths such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, big data.

On this occasion, Mr. David Zapolsky sincerely thanked the attention and support of the Party and State leaders of Vietnam for Amazon's investment and business activities in Vietnam in the past decade, expressed his belief in Vietnam's development potential with very specific goals, guidelines and policies.

Amazon's leaders also emphasized the group's long-term investment commitment in Vietnam, ready to accompany Vietnam in developing digital infrastructure, training human resources, contributing to the implementation of Vietnam's socio-economic development goals.
