This is a regular session of the City People's Council before implementing the merger of Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province, the new Da Nang City.
According to the Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, after 28 years of separation for development, the city has now become a common home with Quang Nam province, one of the localities with great advantages in the merger process.
The new Da Nang City will operate from July 1. This is an important historical event, an opportunity to expand space and develop strongly.
"The new Da Nang city, when merged with Quang Nam, is the city with the largest area in the country. The total area of the whole city is nearly 12,000km2, with more than 3 million people, with a diverse and rich system of airports and seaports" - Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, emphasized.
In addition, Mr. Quang said that Da Nang City after the merger will also face many difficulties and challenges such as low urbanization rate, unsynchronized infrastructure, these challenges can continue for many consecutive terms.
The Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee also noted that the City People's Council needs to summarize the activities of the 10th term People's Council, term 2021-2026 to draw lessons to serve as a foundation for the new City People's Council to continue to promote when the new city is established.
