Da Nang is expected to become an important growth pole when Vietnam participates in the global supply chain initiated by the US.

Speaking at the Vietnam - US Friendship Exchange Program on the evening of June 22, Mr. Ho Ky Minh - Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee expressed his gratitude to the US Embassy in Vietnam, the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations for coordinating with the city government to organize the Vietnam - US Friendship Exchange Program.

According to Mr. Ho Ky Minh, this is an important event on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the US in the context of the relationship between the two countries at the highest stage of development, towards a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

On that platform, the US has always been an important partner of Da Nang City in all fields from friendship cooperation, investment, trade, education and training, culture, science and technology, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

To date, Da Nang has attracted 89 FDI projects from the US with a total investment capital of 511 million USD, ranking 3rd in FDI capital in the city.

In particular, in 2024, the Da Nang - US Cooperation Promotion Working Group was established, expressing the desire of both sides to promote cooperation, exchange information and experience, and create favorable conditions for businesses of the two countries to invest and do business.

Thereby, contributing to promoting the cooperation and friendship between Da Nang and the US to develop in areas such as human resource development, investment promotion, innovation, semiconductor technology, digital economy, green growth, sustainable development, etc.

"With great potential for space and resources in the coming time, Da Nang expects to become an important growth pole when Vietnam participates in the global supply chain initiated by the US and the US will be a potential partner in important projects such as the International Financial Center and the Free Trade Zone in Da Nang City" - Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh emphasized.

Also at the exchange program, US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper - said that today's program is the first event in a series of events held across Vietnam to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the US.

In recent times, the relationship between the US and Da Nang has developed increasingly strongly, with comprehensive cooperation in the fields of business, education, healthcare and tourism.

US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper also gave a clear example of the deep connection between the two peoples, which is that every year, more than 750,000 people from the US come to Vietnam to travel, work and visit their families.

Da Nang in particular is a prominent destination, attracting many American tourists thanks to its natural beauty, unique culture and business development opportunities.

Da Nang is also strengthening economic relations with leading US companies, especially in the high-tech and healthcare sectors - these are two sectors with great development potential.
