    Promoting military ranks, appointing leaders of Military Region 5

    On July 4, the Military Region 5 Command said that the President and Prime Minister had just issued a decision to promote the rank of general and appoint the leader of Military Region 5.

    Accordingly, President Luong Cuong signed Decision No. 1187/QD-CTN dated June 27, 2025 to promote the rank of Colonel to Major General for Mr. Luu Xuan Phuong - Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 5, Ministry of National Defense.

    Previously, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also signed a decision to appoint personnel of Military Region 5 of the Ministry of National Defense.

    In Decision No. 1408/QD-TTg dated June 28, 2025, the Prime Minister appointed Colonel Tran Thanh Hai - Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 5 to hold the position of Deputy Commander of Military Region 5.

    Military Region 1 announces and awards decision to promote military ranks and increase officers' salaries

    On July 4, Military Region 1 held a conference to announce and award the decision to promote the rank of colonel and increase the salary of officers of the rank of colonel and lieutenant colonel in 2025.

    Major General La Cong Phuong, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the Military Region chaired the conference, attended by Major General Truong Manh Dung - Commander of the Military Region.

    Implementing the Decisions of the Ministry of National Defense, in 2025, Military Region 1 will have 26 officers promoted to the rank of Colonel, including 2 officers promoted to the rank of Colonel before the term; raising the salary of Colonel for 6 officers and raising the salary of Lieutenant Colonel for 2 officers.
