On April 24, the Party Committee of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee sent a report to the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Standing Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on adjusting the plan to arrange the commune -level administrative units of Khanh Hoa province.
Previously, on April 21 and 23, the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee submitted 2 submissions on the Project to reorganize commune-level administrative units of Khanh Hoa province and the Project to reorganize Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan provinces.
However, the People's Committee and People's Council of Nha Trang City proposed to change the plan to arrange commune-level administrative units from 22 commune-level administrative units to 4 wards (rather than 3 wards as before).
Specifically, the first level administrative unit is Nha Trang ward, with an area of 47.12 km2, population of 136,118 people, including: Van Thanh ward, Tan Tien ward, Loc Tho ward, Vinh Nguyen ward, Phuoc Hoa ward.
The second level of administrative unit is Bac Nha Trang ward, with an area of 97.03 km2, population of 128,239 people, including: Vinh Luong commune; Vinh Phuong commune, Vinh Hoa ward, Vinh Hai ward, Vinh Phuoc ward, Vinh Tho ward.
The administrative unit at level 3 is Tay Nha Trang ward, with an area of 27.88 km2, population of 108,065 people, including: Ngoc Hiep ward, Phuong Sai ward, Vinh Ngoc commune, Vinh Thanh commune, Vinh Hiep commune, Vinh Trung commune.
The administrative unit at level 4 is Nam Nha Trang ward, with an area of 82.18 km2, population of 130,164 people, including: Phuoc Hai ward, Phuoc Long ward, Vinh Truong ward, Phuoc Dong commune, Vinh Thai commune.
Thus, Khanh Hoa province will rearrange and reorganize 132 commune-level administrative units into 41 commune-level administrative units (including 29 communes, 11 wards, 1 special zone); the reduction rate is 68.93% (a reduction of 91 commune-level administrative units).
The number of administrative units at the grassroots level formed after the arrangement as follows Nha Trang City has 4 wards; Cam Ranh city has 5 communes and wards; Ninh Hoa town consists of 8 communes and wards; Van Ninh district has 5 communes; Dien Khanh district has 6 communes; Cam Lam district has 4 communes; Khanh Vinh district has 5 communes; Khanh Son district has 3 communes and Truong Sa district with 1 special zone.
