Major General Nguyen Duc Thuan - Director of Ha Giang Provincial Police was assigned to hold the position of Director of the new Tuyen Quang Provincial Police.

On the afternoon of June 28, the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Minister of Public Security on the organization and officers of the Provincial and Municipal Public Security according to the Resolution of the National Assembly on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units.

At the ceremony, the Ministry of Public Security announced the Decision on the transfer and arrangement of 34 comrades to hold the position of Police Director of 34 provinces and centrally-run cities.

Major General Nguyen Duc Thuan - Director of Ha Giang Provincial Police before the merger was assigned to hold the position of Director of the new Tuyen Quang Provincial Police (after merging Ha Giang Provincial Police and Tuyen Quang Provincial Police).

From July 1, 2025, the whole country will have 34 provincial-level police (new) and 3,319 commune-level police.
