Major General Nguyen Minh Tuan becomes the new Director of Phu Tho Provincial Police

On the afternoon of June 28, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to announce and implement the decision of the Minister of Public Security on the organization and officers of provincial and municipal police according to the National Assembly's resolution on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units.

Attending and chairing the ceremony were General Luong Tam Quang - Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security.

At the announcement ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Lung - Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel announced the decision of the Minister of Public Security on the organization and arrangement of the police of provinces and centrally run cities.

Accordingly, implementing the policies of the Politburo and the Resolutions of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of provincial and commune-level administrative units, on June 22, 2025, the Minister of Public Security issued decisions to rearrange 52 provincial police into 23 units according to the new administrative boundaries.

From July 1, 2025, the whole country will have 34 provincial-level police (new) and 3,319 commune-level police.

At the ceremony, the Ministry of Public Security announced and presented the decision to arrange the Police Directors of 34 new provinces after the merger.

In which, the Ministry of Public Security decided to arrange Major General Nguyen Minh Tuan - Director of Phu Tho Provincial Police (before the merger) to hold the position of Director of Phu Tho Provincial Police (when merging Vinh Phuc Provincial Police and Hoa Binh Provincial Police into Phu Tho Provincial Police).
