On January 11, a working delegation of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense led by General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Head of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, visited and presented gifts in An Giang province; offered flowers and incense at the Memorial to heroic martyrs and people with meritorious services.

At the program, the working delegation presented gifts to collectives, including: Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of An Giang province; Provincial Military Command, Provincial Border Guard Command, Provincial Veterans Association, Provincial Police; Regional Defense Command, Regiment, Soldier Repatriation Team directly under the Provincial Military Command of An Giang province.
The delegation also presented gifts to 78 individuals who have contributed to the revolution and relatives of people with meritorious services; families of soldiers in difficult circumstances and soldiers in difficult circumstances working in the province.
Speaking at the visit and working session at the An Giang Provincial Military Command, General Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized: this is an activity with a profound meaning of gratitude to heroic martyrs and people with meritorious services; and at the same time visits and encourages forces, especially the Armed Forces of An Giang province in the atmosphere of the whole country entering the new year 2026, when there are only a few days left until the 14th National Party Congress to take place.
Regarding An Giang province, the General expressed his excitement at the potential and development results achieved in the past time. In the context of deep integration of the country, along with the leadership and direction of the Central Government and the efforts of the locality, An Giang has contributed to enhancing Vietnam's potential, position, and international prestige.

Providing more information about the situation in 2026, General Nguyen Trong Nghia said that the Central Military Commission has met, has many new directions, and higher requirements for the task of building the army and armed forces. Faced with the new situation, An Giang province needs to continue to do better in military construction, maintain the leadership role of the Party over the armed forces, and build a regular, elite, and modern army. The comrade emphasized the effective implementation of the content "2 promoting, 2 preventing and 5 maintaining" in the spirit of the direction of General Secretary To Lam.
