On April 18, in Nghe An, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung attended and spoke at the ceremony to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces of Military Region 4.
At the ceremony, the Prime Minister acknowledged and praised the particularly outstanding achievements of the armed forces of Military Region 4 in more than 80 years of construction, combat and growth, making important contributions to the cause of national liberation and defense of the Fatherland.
According to the Prime Minister, Military Region 4 is an area with a particularly important position in terms of national defense and security, a land rich in revolutionary traditions, a place that nurtures the patriotism and steadfast will of the army and people.
Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister emphasized that in the context of the world and regional situation developing rapidly and complicatedly, the task of protecting the Fatherland sets higher requirements for the armed forces. Therefore, Military Region 4 needs to focus on performing well 6 key tasks.
In which, the highlight is the requirement to improve forecasting and strategic advisory capacity; build an "efficient, streamlined, strong" armed force; consolidate the all-people national defense posture associated with people's security; promote the application of science and technology, and digital transformation in the army.
The Prime Minister also requested to take care of building a clean and strong Military Region Party Committee; improve the quality of the contingent of cadres; and at the same time strengthen defense foreign affairs, contributing to building a border of peace and friendship, especially with Laos.
Affirming his belief in the heroic tradition of the armed forces of Military Region 4, the Prime Minister believes that the unit will continue to excellently complete its tasks, firmly protecting the Central region and the Fatherland.
