On the afternoon of April 16, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung worked with a delegation of 52 leading US businesses led by Mr. Brian McFeeters - Acting Chairman cum General Director of the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) - who are visiting, working, and exploring investment cooperation opportunities in Vietnam.
At the working session, the Chairman cum General Director of USABC, representatives of the US Embassy in Vietnam and US businesses expressed their belief in Vietnam's strong, sustainable and high-quality development period, saying they are ready to cooperate and invest in Vietnam in the fields of: energy, technology and innovation, financial services and fund management, aerospace and automobiles, logistics and advanced manufacturing, health and life sciences, food and agriculture, consumer goods, tourism and travel, innovative economy and consulting services...
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung affirmed that Vietnam consistently considers the US as one of the top important partners.
To make the economic - trade - investment relationship between the two countries continue to develop more strongly in the coming time, Vietnam is ready to create the most favorable conditions for foreign businesses, including US businesses, to continue to expand business and successfully invest in Vietnam.

The Prime Minister said that Vietnam is drastically and urgently reducing administrative procedures and business conditions (in the second quarter, ministries and sectors must cut 50% of compliance costs, 50% of procedure implementation time and the ministry level must not implement more than 30% of the total procedures under management), amending laws, plans, and regulations to strongly mobilize resources for development, including investor capital; in this process, it will be receptive to listening to the opinions of the business community, including US businesses. These things must definitely be done and done very quickly, the Prime Minister clearly stated.
The Prime Minister requested USABC and US businesses to continue to promote their role and influence to convey messages about Vietnam's goodwill and cooperation efforts, have an objective voice, accurately reflect the reality of the Vietnamese economy, promote the two countries to soon reach a reciprocal, fair and balanced trade agreement, and the US side to soon consider recognizing Vietnam as a full market economy and soon remove Vietnam from the list of countries with export restrictions (D1-D3).
Regarding scientific and technological cooperation - a new pillar in bilateral relations, the Prime Minister clearly stated that Vietnam welcomes and values US technology and is ready to create conditions for US-capable telecommunications enterprises to access the market to research investment, technology transfer and development of telecommunications, 5G, and submarine fiber optic infrastructure in Vietnam on the basis of ensuring national security and complying with Vietnam's legal corridor.
The Prime Minister also requested USABC and US businesses with their influence to accompany the Vietnamese Government in successfully organizing APEC Year 2027, creating momentum for Vietnam to continue to open markets, attract investment, transfer technology and improve the competitiveness of the economy.
