In the afternoon of April 18, Politburo Member, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hanoi City Tran Duc Thang inspected the site of some key projects in the city.
Secretary of the City Party Committee Tran Duc Thang and the working delegation inspected the actual construction progress at the following projects: Ring Road 1 (Hoang Cau - Voi Phuc section); construction item of drainage line from DT4 road in Tay Ho Tay urban area to Hoang Quoc Viet road; Yen Nghia 1 regulating lake and project to improve the drainage system in the west of the city, focusing on Yen Nghia drainage pumping station and La Khe canal.
Progress of key projects and works
For the Ring Road 1 Project (Hoang Cau - Voi Phuc section), to date, site clearance work with a total area of 153,341m2, involving 1,983 households in O Cho Dua, Lang, and Giang Vo wards has been completed, and the entire site has been handed over to the Project Management Board for construction organization.
For the construction package of the road and 2 overpasses at Lang Ha - Giang Vo intersection, which started on January 9, 2026, currently, the construction progress of the road has reached about 50% of the volume. Two overpasses are also being accelerated.
For the DT4 drainage line of Tay Ho Tay urban area to Hoang Quoc Viet street, the item of installing culverts without site clearance was completed on April 15, 2026, exceeding the schedule by 15 days. Currently, the volume of open ditches reaches about 65%. The investor and contractor focus maximum manpower and equipment, organize multi-pronged construction, determined to clear the technical route before April 30; complete railings, sidewalks, and green trees before May 15.
Yen Nghia 1 regulating lake project in An Khanh commune, site clearance of 23.5ha has been 100% completed. From the end of January 2026, the Project Management Board organized construction with 15 simultaneous fronts.
The project to improve the drainage system in the western part of the city, site clearance is basically completed in An Khanh commune, Ha Dong ward, and Duong Noi ward. However, there are still some households that have to demolish part of the works and many locations of electricity and water infrastructure have not been moved, affecting the construction progress of traffic roads on both sides of the canal.
Implement the progress correctly, ensure quality, absolute safety
Speaking to direct at inspection points, Secretary of the City Party Committee Tran Duc Thang praised the investors and contractors for their efforts to ensure the construction progress of key projects of the city.

Every day of delay is another day when people have to endure traffic jams and pollution.
Directing at the site of the Ring Road 1 project (Hoang Cau - Voi Phuc section), Hanoi Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang emphasized that the Ring Road 1 project is a backbone route, relieving traffic pressure in the central area, opening up new development space, connecting important areas of the Capital, so every day of delay is an extra day for people to suffer from congestion, pollution, travel time is prolonged, and the quality of life is affected.
Mr. Tran Duc Thang requested the Project Management Board, departments, branches and related wards to focus maximally, review all stages of construction organization, clearly point out each bottleneck, each problematic location, propose specific solutions and deadlines for definitive handling. Mr. Tran Duc Thang requested to complete the entire roadbed before September 2, 2026; complete the construction of 2 overpasses on the route before December 31, 2026.
Secretary of the City Party Committee Tran Duc Thang requested the investor and contractor to commit in writing to the completion time of each main item, have a construction plan to compensate for progress, increase shifts, increase crews in a scientific way, ensuring absolute safety and quality. The city will strengthen inspection, if any unit does not meet requirements, has weak capacity, or is constructing at a reduced capacity, it will resolutely consider transferring, not for any reason to let the project be delayed further, directly affecting the lives, activities, production, and business of people on both sides of the route.
At the project item of Building a drainage line from DT4 road in Tay Ho Tay urban area to Hoang Quoc Viet road, Secretary of the City Party Committee Tran Duc Thang said that this is a drainage line of great significance for the Tay Ho Tay area and its vicinity, where the density of residents, high-rise apartments, agency headquarters, and commercial services is increasing.
Emphasizing that if it is not completed on schedule, every heavy rain will cause people to worry about flooding, and the living and business environment will be disrupted, Secretary of the City Party Committee Tran Duc Thang requested the investor, construction unit, and ward government to consider the completion of this drainage line as an urgent task, directly related to social security and the people's trust.
Mr. Tran Duc Thang clearly stated that the drainage canal item must be completed before April 30, 2026, and the sidewalk must be completed to be spacious and clean before May 15, 2026.
At the Yen Nghia 1 regulating lake project, Secretary of the City Party Committee Tran Duc Thang set out the progress to complete the project: By April 30, 2026, complete the construction of the lake section to operate and exploit water storage; before June 30, 2026, complete the landscape around the lake to serve the people.
At the construction site of the La Khe canal project, Secretary of the City Party Committee Tran Duc Thang specifically set out the construction progress of the La Khe canal: For the water canal construction packages, they must be completed before April 30, 2026 to ensure stable drainage to Yen Nghia Pumping Station; before June 30, 2026, the landscape item must be completed.
The ring roads, overpasses, regulating lakes, and canals we are building are not only for completing the project, but also to exchange for less traffic jams, less flooded neighborhoods, and less polluted air for millions of people in the Capital" - Mr. Tran Duc Thang emphasized.
