Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed Official Dispatch No. 96/CD-TTg dated September 16, 2024 of the Prime Minister on urgently studying and investing in the construction of a new Phong Chau bridge on National Highway 32C connecting Tam Nong district and Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province.

The dispatch stated that on September 9, the water level on the Red River rose, causing the collapse of Phong Chau bridge on National Highway 32C connecting Tam Nong district and Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province, causing great damage to people and property and disrupting traffic on National Highway 32C.
The Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 89/CD-TTg dated September 9, 2024, directing the overcoming of the consequences of the bridge collapse and ensuring safe traffic operations during the flood season, especially in the Northwestern provinces.
To quickly resolve the traffic disruption and create favorable conditions for people to participate in traffic on National Highway 32C and the areas of Tam Nong and Lam Thao districts, Phu Tho province, the Prime Minister has given the following instructions:
Assign the People's Committee of Phu Tho province as the presiding agency, urgently coordinate with the Ministry of Transport and relevant agencies to immediately deploy research, survey, and complete procedures to prepare for investment in the project to build a new Phong Chau bridge on National Highway 32C, ensuring solidity and safety in all flood and rain conditions; report to competent authorities before October 1, 2024.
Assign the Ministers of the Ministries of Transport, Agriculture and Rural Development, Planning and Investment, and Finance to direct, closely coordinate, and proactively guide Phu Tho province to complete the project investment preparation procedures as soon as possible; balance and arrange capital sources to implement the project, and report to the Prime Minister before September 20, 2024.
Assign the Office of the Government, according to its assigned functions and tasks, to monitor and urge ministries and agencies to promptly carry out the tasks assigned in this Official Dispatch; promptly report to the Prime Minister on arising issues.
