On the evening of September 15, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the live television program "Vietnam's Fulcrum" produced by Vietnam Television.
The program "Vietnam's Fulcrum" aims to spread feelings and share with our people the losses caused by storms and floods, encourage the spirit of resilience to overcome difficulties, creativity and courage for the common goal.
At the program, the Prime Minister and delegates observed a minute of silence to commemorate those who lost their lives due to floods and natural disasters in recent days.
One of the most touching moments at the program was when the Prime Minister went on stage to encourage and give gifts to Nguyen Quoc Bao, an orphan due to floods.
Born in 2016, Nguyen Quoc Bao lost both his father and sister when the three of them were swept away by floodwaters while traveling by motorbike across the Cau Treo bridge in Yen Thuan commune, Ham Yen district, Tuyen Quang province.
The Prime Minister also thanked and encouraged Captain Luc Van Nguyen - a police officer of Yen Thuan commune, who directly rescued the child from the flood. It is known that the Vietnam Television Trade Union has decided to sponsor Nguyen Quoc Bao so that he can have the conditions to study until he is 18 years old.
"In difficult times, in times of hardship, in times of challenge, everyone needs a support," the Prime Minister shared.
The Prime Minister shared with compatriots and comrades about "6 fulcrums of Vietnam".
Firstly, it is the fulcrum of the spirit of great national unity, unity within the Party, unity among the people, unity within the country, and international unity, "Unity, unity, great unity, success, success, great success" as Uncle Ho said.
The second fulcrum is that we have had the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam leading us for nearly 95 years. The Party has no other goal than to bring independence and freedom to the nation and a prosperous and happy life to the people.
The third fulcrum is the heroic, civilized, and cultured historical and cultural tradition of the nation, the spirit of mutual love and support, "do as you would be done by", and “The leaves protect tattered ones”.
The fourth fulcrum is the people. The people make history, strength comes from the people, "Without people, a hundred times easier can not be done; with people, thousands ten thousand times harder can be done".
The fifth fulcrum is the Army and the Police. "In times of need and difficulty, there is the Army and the Police"; "Our Army comes from the people and fights for the people"; "Our Police sacrifice themselves for the country people".
The sixth fulcrum is the spirit of self-reliance and self-improvement of our nation and each individual. When facing difficulties and challenges, the more pressure there is, the more effort and striving to rise, overcoming one's limits, with the spirit of "turning nothing into something, turning difficult into easy, turning the impossible into possible".
With the above six pillars of Vietnam, the Prime Minister called on compatriots and comrades to "work twice as hard", "work during the day if not enough, take advantage of working at night" to contribute to overcoming the consequences of super typhoon No. 3 in 26 northern provinces and cities, contributing to building a strong and prosperous Vietnam, and making our people increasingly happy and prosperous.
