VNA reported that on the afternoon of November 11, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Lao Minister of Labor and Welfare Phosay Sayasone and the working delegation visiting, working and attending the 9th Vietnam - Laos Ministers' Conference in Vietnam.
The Prime Minister expressed his delight that the unique cooperation between the two countries has continued to develop positively and firmly in recent times, and has increasingly deepened. This relationship needs to be nurtured more and more, and cannot be replaced. Vietnam will always stand shoulder to shoulder, supporting to the maximum extent possible to continue sustainable development with comrades of Laos.
Minister Phosay Sayasone thanked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for always paying attention to, directing, and facilitating cooperation between the Ministry of Home Affairs of Vietnam (formerly the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs) and the Ministry of Labor and Welfare of Laos, as well as fostering a good relationship between the two countries.
Minister Phosay Sayasone said the two ministries have a good relationship. The two sides shared experiences in developing and implementing laws and policies for developing the labor market, social insurance, foreign labor management to the two countries to work, workers to work abroad and in the field of meritorious people.
Appreciating the cooperation results between the two Ministries in recent times, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the two Ministries continue to promote and closely coordinate in the coming time, focusing on cooperation, support, and sharing in the fields of human resource training, vocational training, labor, employment, meritorious people policies, social protection, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, etc.
Informing the Minister about Vietnam's construction of 248 primary and secondary boarding schools in land border communes, including many in communes bordering Laos, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam is ready to welcome Lao students in border communes bordering Vietnam to study at these schools.
The Prime Minister suggested that the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs study and promote technical cooperation, support Lao experts in perfecting laws and policies on labor and meritorious people; strengthen cooperation in developing human resources to train capable, steadfast cadres who are attached to the friendship between Vietnam and Laos; support the training of human resources in the labor sector through a number of projects in the region, diversify training forms; support the implementation of social protection policies; promote cultural exchanges and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
