Also attending with the Prime Minister were Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son and members of the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.
On the morning of June 9 (afternoon of the same day, Hanoi time), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the opening session of the 3rd UNOC Conference.
At noon of the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh co-chaired with President of Iraq and President of Colombia and spoke at the World Plains Summit event with senior leaders.
On the same afternoon, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to speak to represent 10 ASEAN member countries in conjunction with his speech as national representative at the 3rd United Nations Oceanographic Conference.
On the same evening, the Prime Minister will witness the Award Ceremony for the Agreement on Conservation and Sustainable Use of marine Biodiversity beyond national competence organized by the United Nations Legal Office.
The 3rd UNOC Conference with the theme "Accelerating action and mobilizing all parties to participate in ocean conservation and sustainable use" co-organized by France and Costa Rica from September 9-13, 2025, was attended by about 60 heads of state and heads of government.
The conference focused on three main focuses: Promoting the conservation and sustainable use of marine biodiversity in areas outside national borders, eliminating damage subsidies in global seafood production activities, and promoting global efforts to protect 30% of the world's land and sea areas by 2030.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister will have bilateral meetings with leaders of countries and international organizations attending the 3rd UNOC Conference.
Previously, on the afternoon of June 8, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and senior leaders of countries attended the inauguration of the Elephant Fish Building at the Nice Convention Center and the science exhibition, visiting booths displaying marine science works and products.
On the evening of June 8, French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife held a solemn reception to welcome Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with senior leaders of countries attending the 3rd UNOC Conference.
