The Government apparatus after the reform has reduced 4 ministries and 1 ministerial-level agency (from 18 ministries, 4 ministerial-level agencies to 14 ministries, 3 ministerial-level agencies).
The National Assembly has highly trusted and approved the appointment and the President has decided to appoint 2 Deputy Prime Ministers (Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung and Mr. Mai Van Chinh); 4 Ministers (Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy).
Some other members of the Government continue to work as Ministers after ministries and agencies receive additional functions and tasks from other ministries and agencies.
In his speech, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested that members of the Government always promote the spirit of proactiveness, flexibility, creativity, efficiency, building an honest, clean Government for the people.
