On August 5, the Government Office announced that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had just signed Decision No. 1664/QD-TTg to add members to the Policy Advisory Council.
The decision to add 5 members to the Policy Advisory Council includes Mr.
1. Mr. Pham Quang Vinh - former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs;
2. Mr. Le Nam Thang - former Deputy Minister of Information and Communications;
3. Mr. Nguyen Anh Tri - former Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion;
4. Mr. Le Xuan Nghia - former Vice Chairman of the National Financial Supervision Committee;
5. Mr. Vo Tri Thanh - former Deputy Director of the Central Institute for Economic Management Research.
The tasks of the members of the Policy Advisory Council are implemented according to Decision No. 812/QD-TTg dated April 24, 2025 of the Prime Minister on the establishment of the Policy Advisory Council.
The Policy Advisory Council is a consulting organization, with the function of researching, advising, and recommending the Prime Minister in managing, directing, and operating socio-economic development.
The Council's task is to research and advise the Prime Minister on strategies, plans, projects, and policies for socio-economic development in the medium and long term; annual socio-economic development plans.
Analyze, forecast, evaluate the situation and results of implementing the socio-economic development plan, strategies, projects, and policies for economic development; on that basis, advise and recommend to the Prime Minister measures and solutions to improve the effectiveness of implementation or propose amendments and supplements to mechanisms and policies to achieve the set goals.
At the same time, advise and recommend to the Prime Minister solutions and timely response measures for unusual fluctuations in the domestic and international socio-economic situation. Participating in giving opinions on major reports and projects on the socio-economy of the Government, the Prime Minister submitted to the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, the National Assembly, and the National Assembly Standing Committee under the direction of the Prime Minister.
The Council is proactive in working with ministries, branches, localities, agencies, institutes, and Research Centers; is requested by ministries, branches, localities, agencies, institutes, and Research Centers to provide documents, papers, and data information; and is regularly provided by the Government Office with documents, documents, and data information related to the implementation of the functions and tasks of the Council.
