At the invitation of Politburo member and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and his wife paid an official visit to Vietnam from March 25-26.
On the afternoon of March 25, Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and his wife arrived in Hanoi. On the morning of March 26, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife presided over a solemn welcoming ceremony for Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and his wife.

In a sincere, warm and open atmosphere, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife went to the car door to welcome Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and his wife; then the Singapore Prime Minister and Phu received a bouquet of fresh flowers from students in Hanoi. The two Prime Ministers walked the red carpet amid the waving of students holding the Vietnamese and Singaporean flags in their hands.
When the two leaders stepped onto the podium of honor, under the national flags of the two countries, the national anthems of Singapore and Vietnam were sung. In a solemn atmosphere, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong stepped forward to greet the national flags of the two countries. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh invited Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to approve the Honor Guard to join the Vietnam People's Army. After that, the two Prime Ministers introduced to each other members of the high-ranking delegations of the two countries to attend the welcoming ceremony; and witnessed the welcoming parade of the Honor Guard of the Vietnam People's Army.

Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong's official visit to Vietnam took place not long after General Secretary To Lam's visit to Singapore (March 9 - March 13), a step to implement the awareness and agreements reached by the two countries' senior leaders during General Secretary To Lam's visit.

Prime Minister Lawrence Wong's visit demonstrates Singapore's interest and importance in cooperation with Vietnam.
The visit is also a highlight because 2025 is a very special year in the relationship between Vietnam and Singapore. In addition to the two countries having just announced the upgrading of their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, this year Singapore celebrates the 60th anniversary of its Independence and Vietnam celebrates the 80th anniversary of National Day.
