On the morning of October 29, in Abu Dhabi, during his official visit to the UAE, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh delivered an important policy speech at the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy with the theme "Vietnam - UAE Comprehensive Partnership: A Shared Vision for Peace, Development and Prosperity".
The Prime Minister spent time sharing about three main contents: The current world and regional situation; Vietnam's fundamental factors, development perspectives, achievements and development orientations; Vision for the Vietnam - UAE Comprehensive Partnership and Vietnam - Middle East relations in the coming time.
The Prime Minister said that the two countries' upgrading of bilateral relations to Comprehensive Partnership and signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) is a strong affirmation that, in the new era - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise, the Middle East region and the UAE hold a very important position in Vietnam's foreign policy.
Assessing that "UAE is a country that has turned the impossible into possible", the Prime Minister warmly congratulated the success of the UAE Government and people in turning the country into a leading economic, financial and technological center in the region.
The Prime Minister said that the two nations need to accompany, inspire, and stand side by side on the journey to realize their vision and aspirations for development, towards a prosperous and happy future.
To realize the newly established Comprehensive Partnership, the Prime Minister proposed that Vietnam and the UAE strengthen cooperation in six major priorities.
Accordingly, continue to maintain, consolidate and cultivate political trust, especially high-level delegation exchanges, strongly promote the cooperative, friendly and solidarity relationship between the State, Government and people of the two countries.
Making economic, trade and investment cooperation an important pillar of bilateral relations; effectively implementing the recently signed CEPA Agreement; encouraging UAE investment funds and businesses to invest in large, breakthrough projects.
Strengthening cooperation in developing the Halal industry in Vietnam, agricultural cooperation is a field with great potential for cooperation between the two countries.
Strengthen cooperation in science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, green transformation; further strengthen cooperation in education and training, people-to-people exchange, tourism and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
Promote multilateral cooperation, uphold international law, persistently promote dialogue, build trust, and enhance solidarity and understanding among peoples.
Contribute more actively and proactively with the international community to solve global challenges.
Concluding his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized that the Middle East region in general and the Gulf region, including the UAE, are lands of great potential. Although geographically distant, regional countries, especially the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), are increasingly closer to ASEAN in terms of vision and development orientation.
"Your development achievements and spectacular successes in transforming the growth model are examples for ASEAN in general and Vietnam in particular to refer to and learn from. Promoting the cooperation prospects of the new Comprehensive Partnership framework, the values that our two peoples cherish, and with common vision, determination and efforts, we hope and believe that Vietnam and the UAE will together write a new, more brilliant chapter in the bilateral relationship, for the practical interests of the people of both countries, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in our two regions and in the world," said the Prime Minister.
The keynote speech at the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy was the final activity of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation during their official visit to the UAE, concluding a very successful first leg of their visit to three Middle Eastern countries.
After this activity, the Prime Minister and the Vietnamese delegation left Abu Dhabi for an official visit to Saudi Arabia.
