Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has just signed Decision No. 842/QD-TTg dated May 13, 2026 approving the election results for the position of Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee for the term 2026-2031 for Mr. Le Cong Ly - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Management Board of Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Can Tho.
Previously, on April 29, at the 2nd session of the Can Tho City People's Council, Mr. Le Cong Ly was elected by delegates of the City People's Council to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee, term 2026-2031 with 78/79 delegates present in favor.
Mr. Le Cong Ly was born in 1977, native of Thanh Xuan commune, Chau Thanh A district, Hau Giang province (now Thanh Xuan commune, Can Tho city). Professional qualifications: University of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, Master of Business Administration; senior in political theory.
Before being elected to the position of Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, Mr. Le Cong Ly used to hold positions in the old Hau Giang province such as Chief of Office of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Chau Thanh District Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Training Committee of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Management Board of Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Can Tho.
Thus, up to now, Can Tho City People's Committee has 6 Vice Chairmen, including: Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Mr. Tran Chi Hung, Mr. Vuong Quoc Nam, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep and Mr. Le Cong Ly.
