On the morning of September 21, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a conference of the Government Standing Committee working with large enterprises on solutions to contribute to the country's socio-economic development.
In his opening speech, the Prime Minister said that since the beginning of the term, the Government has had many working sessions with domestic and foreign enterprises, especially during the period of economic and social recovery and development after the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, this is the first thematic meeting organized and the agencies will continue to research and advise on organizing further thematic conferences.
To date, according to reports, the private economy contributes 45% of GDP, 40% of total social investment capital, creates 85% of jobs for the total workforce, accounts for 35% of import turnover and 25% of export turnover. Vietnam has private corporations reaching out to the region and the world.
Currently, Vietnam's GDP ranks 34th in the world. Our country has never had the foundation, potential, position and international prestige as it does today.
This is the result of great efforts of the entire people under the leadership of the Party and management of the State, including important contributions from businesses.
The Prime Minister also said that he clearly felt the participation of businesses in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and floods such as the recent super typhoon Yagi. Vietnam is one of the five countries most affected by climate change, strongly promoting the spirit of mutual love, national love and compatriotism.
However, we still face many difficulties, the scale of the economy is still modest, and the average income per capita is not high.
In the context of the country's transformation, the Prime Minister hopes that businesses, especially successful businesses, will continue to promote patriotism, love for the people, national sentiment, solidarity, self-reliance, and self-improvement, contributing to the country.
The Prime Minister emphasized the view that resources originate from thinking and vision, motivation originates from innovation, and strength originates from people and businesses.
According to the Prime Minister, we must have breakthroughs in the coming period to bring the country into a new era, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and moving towards the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country.
The Prime Minister said that the recent 10th Central Conference discussed breakthrough orientations in national development in the coming period, such as institutional breakthroughs, renewing old growth drivers and promoting new growth drivers based on the application of science, technology and innovation.

The Prime Minister stated that the country is showing a clear new development momentum, private enterprises have the vision and mission to contribute to the country's development, and continue to pioneer innovation.
At the same time, we will implement strategic breakthroughs, including building laws and perfecting the socialist-oriented market economic institutions, together with the country and the people, to continue to move forward, develop rapidly and sustainably.
