On the occasion of attending the expanded BRICS Leaders' Summit, on the morning of October 24 (local time) in Kazan, Russia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Alexey Likhachev, General Director of the Russian Federation State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom), reported VNA.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to comprehensive cooperation with the Russian Federation; emphasizing that the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and space research are areas in which the two countries can cooperate.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated the cooperation and support of the Russian Federation in designing and operating the Da Lat Nuclear Reactor, developing the Vietnam - Russia Tropical Centre, contributing to Vietnam's socio-economic development.

The Prime Minister proposed that Russia and Rosatom continue to support Vietnam in technology and training high-quality human resources, including experts, engineers and skilled workers in the field of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
General Director Alexey Likhachev expressed his pleasure to meet Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh again; and reported to the Prime Minister on the results of cooperation between the two countries in the field of atomic energy.
The General Director affirmed that with a good foundation and long-term cooperation experience, Rosatom wishes to continue promoting cooperation with Vietnam in the fields mentioned by the Prime Minister, is ready to share experiences, support training of cadres in a systematic and methodical manner for Vietnam, and promote maximum localization in this field.
