Dong Nai City's GRDP in Q1/2026 increased by 9.76%
In the afternoon of June 13, in Dong Nai City, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and the Government working delegation worked with the Standing Committee of the Dong Nai City Party Committee.
According to reports and opinions at the working session, the GRDP in the first quarter of 2026 of Dong Nai City increased by 9.76% compared to the same period, belonging to the group of localities with the highest growth rate in the country and the highest in the Southern region; in the first 5 months of 2026, budget revenue was over 50,400 billion VND, reaching 50% of the estimate (about over 100,000 billion VND).
Regarding digital transformation and administrative reform, Dong Nai is always in the group of leading localities in implementing Project 06, creating a solid foundation for the digital ecosystem. In 2026, Dong Nai City strives to complete over 8,000 rental houses and has just started construction of 1,000 rental houses.
Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Dong Nai City Party Committee Vu Hong Van committed that Dong Nai will disburse 100% of public investment capital, GRDP growth will reach 10% in 2026 and move towards reaching the 12% mark throughout the term; at the same time, budget revenue in 2026 will reach about 150,000 billion VND (exceeding revenue by 50%); determined to develop quickly and sustainably, becoming an important growth pole of the nation.
Concluding the working session, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung basically agreed with the reports and opinions and on behalf of the Government acknowledged and praised the efforts and important results that the Party Committee, government and people of Dong Nai have achieved in the past time, making positive contributions to the common achievements of the whole country.
The Prime Minister requested Dong Nai City to continue to strongly innovate awareness, thinking and working methods, especially boldly proposing mechanisms and policies for the city in particular and the whole country in general.
The Prime Minister noted that Dong Nai City needs to pay close attention and proactively support businesses, especially private enterprises, in promoting trade promotion, expanding markets and implementing large projects in the area. Promote reform, cut administrative procedures. Focus on reviewing and definitively handling, quickly removing obstacles for backlog and prolonged projects, the final result is putting projects into operation, creating jobs and contributing to the budget.
Review and determine the roadmap to complete planning as soon as possible, especially planning related to Long Thanh airport. Develop industries and fields; promote and exploit the potential and advantages of Long Thanh International Airport well. Highest determination to complete the disbursement of 100% of public investment capital.
Putting the Long Thanh International Airport project into operation at the end of 2026
The Prime Minister requested Dong Nai City to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Construction and agencies to immediately handle arising technical and legal problems, and put the Long Thanh International Airport project into operation by the end of 2026.
The Prime Minister directed to completely complete site clearance for areas still facing obstacles; ensure sufficient site handover for all remaining items. At the same time, accelerate the progress of strategic connecting infrastructure projects and works: Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway, Ring Road 3 of Ho Chi Minh City, Bien Hoa-Vung Tau railway, connecting the domestic area with the airport.
In addition, accelerate the construction progress of Ring Road 4 HCMC projects, the investment project to build the North-South expressway in the West section Gia Nghia-Chon Thanh, the project to build the HCMC-Thu Dau Mot-Chon Thanh expressway...
The Prime Minister requested to thoroughly grasp and synchronously implement the Conclusion of General Secretary and President To Lam and the direction of the Prime Minister on developing rental housing...; requested Dong Nai to ensure smooth operation of the local government at 2 levels.
Giving opinions on the proposals and recommendations of Dong Nai, the Prime Minister said that the Government directed ministries and sectors to have written answers immediately and will always accompany and closely coordinate with Dong Nai in the development process, listen and handle arising issues immediately and effectively.
