On November 18, within the framework of his visit, work and attendance at the Dubai Airshow 2025 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense - met with Lieutenant General Ibrahim Nasser Al- Alawi, Deputy Minister of National Defense of the UAE.
Lieutenant General Ibrahim Nasser Al- Alawi would like to thank the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense for sending a delegation to attend the Dubai Airshow 2025 and the International Air Force Command (DIACC) Conference 2025. He emphasized that this is an opportunity for the two sides to enhance exchanges and promote cooperation.
Congratulating the UAE Ministry of National Defense for successfully organizing the Dubai International Aviation Exhibition 2025 and the 2025 International Air Force Command (DIACC) Conference, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien said that this series of events continues to affirm the UAE's position as one of the leading aviation - defense industry centers in the region and the world, demonstrating the strategic vision, professional organization capacity and international prestige of the UAE.
At the meeting, the two sides highly appreciated the positive developments in defense cooperation between the two countries in recent times, especially in the fields of: exchanging delegations at all levels, actively supporting, sending delegations to attend the International Defense Exhibition, conferences and seminars organized by each side...
Senior General Hoang Xuan Chien suggested that the two sides strengthen defense consultations, organize defense policy dialogues at the Deputy Minister level; promote the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Defense Industry Cooperation; strengthen cooperation in the field of defense industry, including cooperation between the General Department of Defense Industry, Viettel Group and major defense industry groups of the UAE;
Deputy Minister Hoang Xuan Chien also suggested that the UAE Ministry of Defense pay attention to promoting the establishment of a Vietnam Defense attache Office in the UAE.
On this occasion, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien respectfully invited Mr. Lieutenant General and Mr. Quoc Hoang of the UAE Ministry of National Defense to visit Vietnam, to attend the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition scheduled to be held at the end of 2026 in Hanoi.
Lieutenant General Ibrahim Nasser Al- Alawi acknowledged the contents that Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien has just mentioned, saying that he will actively promote and concretize the contents that the leaders of the two sides have discussed.
Previously, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien had a courtesy visit to UAE Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Also on the occasion of visiting and working in the UAE, attending the Dubai Airshow 2025 (Dubai Airshow 2025), on the afternoon of November 17, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Viettel Military Industry - Telecommunications Group and EDGE Group of the UAE.
The memorandum of understanding has just been signed, creating a solid foundation for the potential for extensive cooperation in the field of high-tech defense industry.
The Dubai Air Show is one of the world's leading international air shows. This year's exhibition brings together nearly 1,500 exhibitors from 98 countries, with nearly 200 aircraft on display impressively.
