Enhance combat readiness
General Secretary To Lam - Secretary of the Central Military Commission - emphasized this requirement at the 12th Central Military Commission Conference this afternoon (December 16) in Hanoi.
According to General Secretary To Lam, in 2024, despite many difficulties, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense led and directed the entire army to strictly follow the leadership of the Party and the management of the State, promote the glorious tradition and noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, unite, overcome all difficulties, comprehensively complete military, defense and Party building tasks, and have many tasks completed excellently.
Emphasizing the tasks in 2025, General Secretary To Lam requested the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to lead and direct the comprehensive implementation of the identified tasks and solutions.
First of all, focus on reviewing the overall goals and tasks set forth by the 13th National Party Congress and the 11th National Party Congress of the Army, and have resolute solutions, with the determination to reach the finish line early.
The entire military leadership must be proactive, sensitive, grasp, forecast, and correctly assess the situation, fulfill the advisory function with the Party and State to flexibly and successfully handle situations, and avoid being passive or surprised.
Strengthen coordination and effectively implement the 13th Central Committee's Resolution 8 on the Homeland Protection Strategy in the new situation and newly issued legal documents; lead and direct the entire army to maintain and improve combat readiness, ensuring victory in all situations.
At the same time, proactively coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security, relevant agencies and localities to organize parades and marches at the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and the 80th National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to ensure that they are tight, majestic and impressive.
By 2025, basically build a strong, compact and elite army.
The General Secretary requested to thoroughly grasp and well implement the goal: "By 2025, basically build a lean, compact, and strong Army" according to the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; seriously summarize the implementation and organize reviews, continue to adjust the Army organization according to the determined roadmap associated with promoting administrative reform and digital transformation.
General Secretary To Lam requested the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to continue to promote the core role of the Army in building all-people national defense, civil defense, building a "people's heart position", firmly protecting the airspace, sea, border, inland and cyberspace.
Focus on and complete key projects and tasks as soon as possible; coordinate to maintain political security, social order and safety, and protect the safety of goals and events in 2025.
At the same time, actively participate in building a strong local political base; proactively take all measures to participate in preventing and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, searching and rescuing, developing the economy and society in conjunction with strengthening national defense and security, building new rural areas, and sustainably reducing poverty in the localities.
At the conference, General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense - spoke, received instructions from the General Secretary and leaders of the Party and State, and received opinions from representatives of central agencies.
General Phan Van Giang also requested the members of the Central Military Commission to uphold their responsibility, thoroughly grasp, direct, and resolutely, synchronously, and effectively implement the identified policies and solutions, and strive to successfully and excellently complete the tasks of 2025.
