Respectfully respecting the Hung Kings and their predecessors Dear comrades, compatriots across the country and overseas Vietnamese
In the sacred atmosphere of the Hung Kings Commemoration Day, I was very touched to meet the people right at Hung Temple. Returning to Hung Temple on the 10th day of the third lunar month, I and the people looked towards our roots. Whether in the plains or the mountains, whether living in the country or far from the Fatherland, we are all descendants of Lac Hong, "dragon children and fairy children", all sharing a common origin, a common roof of Vietnam.
Each person comes here from a different countryside, a different job, a different circumstance. Some come from the plains, some from the mountains, some travel long distances from the Central and Southern regions, from islands, from abroad. But when setting foot on this sacred land, we all have a common heart: returning to the roots, returning to the ancestors, returning to the starting point of compatriotism.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, I cordially send to all people sincere greetings, wishes for health, peace, solidarity and happiness. I would like to send the best wishes to the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Phu Tho province.
Dear comrades and dear people!
Our nation has many major holidays, many memorable milestones. But the Hung Kings' Death Anniversary is a very special day. This is a moment for every Vietnamese person to remember the Hung Kings who contributed to building the country, remember Mother Au Co, National Ancestor Lac Long Quan, and remember generations of fathers and grandfathers who poured sweat, blood, and intelligence to reclaim land, build villages, establish the country, preserve and expand borders, and cultivate civilization.
Vietnamese history is always associated with morality. That morality is very simple: drinking water remembers the source, eating fruit remembers the person who planted the tree, birds have nests, people have lineages. With that morality, Hung Kings' Death Anniversary has become a festival of gratitude, a festival of compatriots.
Our two words "compatriots" are very meaningful, standing at Hung Temple, those two words are even more sacred. Compatriots are the same bundle of a hundred eggs, born from a sacred legend, sharing joys and sorrows in history, relying on each other through difficulties, sharing a common responsibility for the fate of the country.
From the Hung Kings to the Ho Chi Minh era, the consistent thing throughout the history of our nation is patriotism and solidarity. During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh instructed cadres and soldiers at Gieng Temple "The Hung Kings have contributed to building the country, Uncle and our children must join hands to protect the country". Uncle's words are still intact to this day. Building the country is the merit of ancestors. Protecting the country and developing the country is the responsibility of today's and future generations. Protecting the country is protecting independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity; is protecting peace, protecting the peaceful life of the people; is preserving culture, preserving morality, preserving faith, preserving national self-respect. Protecting the country is also making the country increasingly rich and strong, and the people increasingly prosperous and happy. Developing the country is for us to "stand shoulder to shoulder with the five continental powers".
Today, national defense does not stop at the story of guns and bullets in the battlefield as previous generations have done. National defense is also protecting forests, protecting water sources, protecting peaceful society, protecting family customs, protecting the good language and customs of each nation, protecting the integrity of the contingent of cadres, and protecting the people's trust in the Party, the State and the future of the country.
When Uncle Ho returned to Hung Temple in 1962, Uncle advised a very close thing: "once you go, you must reach the destination". His words are even more true in the current context. Uncle Ho talked about mountain climbing, but also about revolutionary work, being a person, working for the people, for the country. Having set goals, you must persevere. Having promised the people, you must do it. Having taken responsibility, you must follow it to the end. Having chosen the path of building a prosperous country, you must not be discouraged by difficulties.
Today, standing at Hung Temple, I want to remind myself with the leaders and people of Uncle Ho's words. The development path of the homeland and country is still full of difficulties, challenges, and things that have not been as desired. But if we are united, if each person does their part well, if cadres are dedicated to the people, if the people trust and join forces, we will definitely reach the destination.
To the people of Phu Tho province, I would like to say my sincere thanks. For generations, the people of Dat To have considered preserving Hung Temple as a sacred responsibility. From people working in relic management, elderly people, artisans, ceremonial teams, procession teams, Xoan singing teams, teachers, students, to each household living around the relic site, everyone contributes a part of their effort. There are big things that many people know about, and there are small things that are silent behind. All are very respectable.
I hope that the Party Committee, government and people of Phu Tho province will continue to take care of Hung Temple to become more solemn, green, clean, beautiful, safe and friendly. Relic preservation must go hand in hand with landscape protection, environment and cultural space. Tourism development must be associated with the legitimate rights of the people, with civilized lifestyle, with long-term sustainability. Local people are the hosts of the festival. The more kind, thoughtful, honest, and hospitable the host, the more tourists remember, cherish, and want to return.
With young people, students, I want to add: you come to Hung Temple today not only to take a beautiful photo or attend a fun event. Our ancestors have given us a country. The young generation must make that country develop stronger, more humane, and have a higher position. You should study well, train well, always remember the morality of Vietnamese people, understand the history and culture of the nation.
Dear compatriots, compatriots, comrades,
Our country is now more decent, more beautiful, but there are still many difficulties and challenges. Our compatriots still face many difficulties, especially in mountainous areas, remote areas, and ethnic minority areas. At this time, we need the spirit of Hung Kings, the spirit of knowing how to rely on each other, overcome difficulties together, know how to take solidarity as the root, take the people as the foundation, take culture as strength, and take self-reliance as motivation.
The Party and State always identify the People as the center, the subject, the strength of the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland. All guidelines and policies must be directed towards a better life for the people. Speaking to the people today at Hung Temple, I see that responsibility even more clearly. National development must begin with very specific questions: is the road to school for children more convenient; do health stations serve the people better; do workers have more stable jobs; are villages and neighborhoods cleaner and more beautiful; are poor and vulnerable people given more attention; do officials be closer to the people, respect the people, understand the people, and serve the people more?
I propose that Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations continue to listen to the people, dialogue with the people, and solve the things that the people need, worry about, and hope for. Grassroots officials must tell the people to understand, make the people believe, and work with the people to remove difficulties. For ethnic minority areas, mountainous areas, and areas with many difficulties, policies must go to the villages, households, and people; resources must be used in the right places and in the right jobs; results must be measured by real changes in people's lives.
Dear compatriots, people, comrades!
I am very touched to see in the crowd attending the festival, elderly people walking next to young children; families of three generations going to the Temple together; youth unions wearing volunteer shirts; officers and soldiers silently performing their duties; people diligently serving tourists. Each image contributes to the beauty of the festival.
We are proud of history, but proud must go along with action. We love our country, but patriotism must be expressed through actions every day. We talk about solidarity, then we must know how to help each other in difficult times, know how to put common interests first. We talk about culture, then we must know how to behave culturally in the family, outside society, on the streets, in festivals. We talk about development, then we must work together, study, innovate, maintain discipline and protect the living environment.
I hope that when people return from Hung Temple, they will bring a bright joy. The joy is because we live in a country with roots, peace, and humanity. We have a responsibility to live worthy of our ancestors' merits, to do better in our work, to take better care of our families, and contribute more to our homeland and country.
During the festival days, I request the forces on duty to continue to uphold the spirit of responsibility, wholeheartedly guide the people, ensure security, order, traffic safety, fire prevention and fighting, health, environmental sanitation and conditions to serve the people. Our service must be both serious and friendly; both in accordance with regulations and close, so that every citizen when returning to Hung Temple can feel thoughtfulness, safety and affection.
I also hope that press and media agencies will continue to spread the beautiful images of the festival, decent stories, civilized actions, and historical and cultural values of Hung Temple and the Ancestral Land. Communication about the festival needs to help people understand correctly, act correctly, and be proud of correctly.
Dear people, compatriots, comrades!
Before the spirits of the Hung Kings, we respectfully remember the merits of our ancestors, remember beloved President Ho Chi Minh, remember the generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed for the independence, freedom, unification of the Fatherland and the happiness of the People. We are determined to continue the tradition of building and defending the country, preserving the great national unity bloc, building a strong, prosperous, civilized, and happy Vietnam.
From Hung Temple today, I would like to send my best wishes to compatriots across the country and overseas Vietnamese. Wishing grandparents and aunts good health and longevity. Wishing families peace and warmth. Wishing young children and grandchildren to be obedient, study well, and nurture beautiful dreams. Wishing compatriots returning to the Hung Temple festival a safe, solemn, joyful, civilized and meaningful journey.
Wishing Hung Kings' Death Anniversary - Hung Temple Festival in the year of Binh Ngo a great success. Wishing the homeland of the Ancestral Land to develop more and more, and people to be more prosperous and happy. Our beloved Vietnam will forever exist, forever firmly stepping on the path of independence, freedom, unity, democracy, prosperity, strength and compassion.
Thank you very much!
