Within the framework of the State visit to Australia, General Secretary and President To Lam received Governor of New South Wales Margaret Beazley at noon on August 10 (local time).
General Secretary and President To Lam said that the relationship between the two countries is developing very well, increasingly going deeper, more substantive and effective, especially in areas that will determine the competitiveness and prosperity of each country in the coming decades.
On that basis, General Secretary and President To Lam believes that cooperation between New South Wales and localities of Vietnam will continue to be deepened on the basis of good political relations, and people-to-people exchanges will be more favorable when infrastructure and aviation connectivity between the two countries are strongly promoted.
Along with suggesting that Australia can study growing Vietnamese coffee, General Secretary and President To Lam believes that in the coming time, the two sides will promote cooperation in all fields, typically such as high-tech agriculture, biology, agricultural product processing, trade, investment; affirming that Vietnam supports Australia's development and wishes to cooperate to promote relations between the two ASEAN and Pacific regions.
Governor of New South Wales Margaret Beazley warmly welcomed General Secretary and President To Lam and the high-level Vietnamese delegation to visit New South Wales, and at the same time respected and highly appreciated the contributions of the Vietnamese-Australian community, in which many people are successful in various fields and hold important positions and roles in the state.
Governor Margaret Beazley highly agreed with the opinion of General Secretary and President To Lam on making science and technology, innovation a new pillar in cooperation between the two countries, along with promoting and training high-quality human resources, developing agriculture as well as other fields where the two sides have strengths.
New South Wales is the oldest state and plays a core role in the history of the formation of the Commonwealth of Australia. With its capital Sydney - a global iconic city, New South Wales has always played the role of "leader" leading the socio-economic development of Australia.
Vietnam is a key export market for education goods and services of the state.
Education and training are prominent pillars of cooperation as New South Wales attracts a large number of Vietnamese students to study at prestigious universities such as the University of Sydney, University of New South Wales (UNSW), and University of Technology Sydney (UTS). New South Wales has signed an official friendship cooperation agreement with Ho Chi Minh City since 2019.
