In a friendly and warm atmosphere of compatriots, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed pride in a diligent, dynamic and resilient Vietnamese community, always looking towards their homeland and roots.
General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that in the cause of national development in the new era, it is necessary to continue to promote the strength of the great national unity bloc, combined with the strength of the times. Domestic resources and international resources must be connected. Material resources must go hand in hand with intellectual resources.
The strength of over 100 million Vietnamese people in the country must be linked to the strength of 6.5 million Vietnamese people living, studying and working around the world. Only then will we surely soon achieve the set goals.
The Vietnamese community in the US is the largest Vietnamese community in the world, with a history of formation associated with the profound upheavals of the country in the 20th century. In the community, there are many generations, many circumstances and many different views on history. However, "Vietnam is one, the Vietnamese nation is one", that is a truth that never changes.
General Secretary and President To Lam called on the community to close the past, join hands to build the future of the nation, also for the future of our children and grandchildren. This is not just a wish, but a responsibility of our generation to future generations.
General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his wish that Vietnamese compatriots in the US would join hands to realize the aspiration to develop a strong and prosperous Vietnamese country through specific actions such as expanding global Vietnamese intellectual networks; connecting Vietnamese businesses with overseas Vietnamese businesses in the US; creating more student, professor and expert exchange programs, creating conditions for the young generation of Vietnamese people in the US to return to Vietnam for internships, research and entrepreneurship, building joint projects in science, technology, education, health, culture, and innovation; creating new bridges to nurture Vietnam-US relations.
General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that the country always welcomes and appreciates all contributions, whether directly or from afar, from the people. Joining hands and contributing to building the homeland is the spirit of "national love - compatriotism".
General Secretary and President To Lam wished Vietnamese compatriots in the US to preserve Vietnamese, pass on the cultural values, customs and good traditions of the nation to the young generation of overseas Vietnamese because this is the strong bond connecting each Vietnamese person with their homeland and roots. In addition, Vietnamese compatriots in the US need to promote their role as "cultural ambassadors", bringing Vietnamese identity closer to the American people and international friends.
