On January 26 in Hanoi Capital, General Secretary To Lam co-chaired the Conference to announce the results of the 12th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party with General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith.
Also attending the conference were senior leaders of the two Parties, and more than 200 delegates including representatives of leaders of departments of the Party, ministries, branches, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations at the Central level, leaders of the Hanoi City Party Committee, and a large number of officials of relevant agencies.
Speaking at the conference, General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith said that the Congress had approved the Political Report with 10 key directions showing the comprehensive and long-term development vision of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party; proposed a 10-year development strategy (2026-2035) towards building, consolidating and improving the main premises in perfecting a solid people's democracy and sustainable growth; notably, the Congress approved the Xth 5-year National Socio-Economic Development Plan (2026-2030) including 6 major goals.
General Secretary and President of Laos clarified development orientations in key areas such as national defense - security, foreign affairs, Party building and political system, culture - society, education - sports, science, technology and innovation; emphasized the requirement of synchronous and sustainable development, closely linking economic growth with ensuring political - social stability and improving people's lives;
General Secretary and President of Laos affirmed consistently the policy of continuing to promote and deepen the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic linkage between Vietnam and Laos, considering this an important factor contributing to ensuring peace, stability and development of each country in the new development period.
General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith expressed his sincere gratitude for the kind and sincere assistance and support of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, including sharing experiences and contributing many profound and practical opinions in the process of preparing and building important documents of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, thereby making an important contribution to the successful success of the 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the key tasks and major solutions of the XII Congress term of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, emphasizing that the groups of solutions proposed by the Congress are comprehensive, synchronous, focused, and key, showing very high determination in organizing implementation; affirming the major orientations on innovating the growth model, developing a green economy, digital economy, improving the quality of human resources, promoting international integration associated with maintaining independence and self-reliance, showing a very modern development mindset, in line with the general trend of the region and the world, while closely following the practical conditions of Laos.
