General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that the Vietnamese State always supports and creates favorable conditions for the France - Vietnam Friendship Association to continue its operations.

Continuing his official visit to France, at noon on October 7 (local time), General Secretary and President To Lam received President of the France - Vietnam Friendship Association Nguyen Hai Nam and a number of members, VNA reported.

The President of the France-Vietnam Friendship Association said that in recent times, the association has carried out many activities to support Vietnam in helping Agent Orange victims in difficult circumstances; cooperating in the fields of science, technology, health, etc.

Recently, the association mobilized French philanthropists to support victims affected by storm No. 3 (storm Yagi), including Yen Bai and Lao Cai provinces; and worked with the Red Cross of the provinces.

In the coming time, the President of the France - Vietnam Friendship Association hopes to support Vietnam effectively and expand to many provinces and cities across the country.

Chairman of the France - Vietnam Friendship Association Nguyen Hai Nam requested that Vietnamese authorities continue to facilitate and support procedures so that the association can carry out activities and projects that benefit the Vietnamese people as well as promote its important core role in promoting the friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the people of Vietnam and France.

At the reception, General Secretary and President To Lam sincerely thanked the France - Vietnam Friendship Association for its affection and contributions over the past 60 years to the country and people of Vietnam, to the past struggle for independence and national reunification, as well as to the current socio-economic development.

Appreciating the active role of the France - Vietnam Friendship Association in enhancing exchanges and connections between the people of the two countries, implementing many practical projects in Vietnamese provinces and cities, most recently supporting the recovery work caused by Typhoon Yagi, General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that the Vietnamese State always supports and creates favorable conditions for the France - Vietnam Friendship Association to continue operating and standing side by side with the Vietnamese people.

General Secretary and President To Lam suggested that the France-Vietnam Friendship Association continue to strengthen close coordination with the Vietnam-France Friendship and Cooperation Association in Vietnam and patriotic associations in France such as the Association of Vietnamese in France to double the strength to continue solidarity activities in support of Vietnam and the relationship between the two countries, and people-to-people exchange and cooperation activities.

The France - Vietnam Friendship Association continues to mobilize people's organizations and young generations of the two countries to actively pay attention to, support and participate in people-to-people exchange and diplomatic activities between Vietnam and France in the coming time.
