On April 14, at the Great Hall of the People, Beijing, China, General Secretary and President Su Lin met with Member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Chairman of the National People's Political Consultative Conference of China Wang Huning.
General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that Vietnam wishes to further deepen political trust through this visit, establish a new height of bilateral cooperation with more comprehensive and deeper connections, and jointly realize the development goals of each country.
To achieve the above goal, General Secretary and President To Lam wished the two sides to promote 3 connections on ideals, beliefs, development benefits, culture, and people's hearts.
Accordingly, the General Secretary and President requested the two sides to maintain regular high-level contacts, consolidate political trust, improve the effectiveness of cooperation on the Party, State, Government, National Assembly - People's Congress, Front - Political Consultative Conference channels, and consolidate the pillar of defense - security cooperation.
The General Secretary and President also proposed that the two sides, in addition to promoting traditional cooperation fields such as trade and investment, jointly strive to create bright spots in new fields such as building transport infrastructure, especially railways; promote digital transformation cooperation, strategic technologies such as AI, quantum, semiconductors, and high-quality human resource education and training, with the aim of making people benefit from the practical cooperation achievements between the two sides.
General Secretary and President To Lam proposed to further promote the role of the National Political Consultative Conference and the Central Committee of the Fatherland Front in supporting and encouraging localities and people's organizations of the two countries to improve the effectiveness of existing cooperation mechanisms, strengthen exchanges and communication, promote propaganda about Vietnam-China friendship as well as the achievements of innovation and reform of each country, and jointly strive to control and properly handle disagreements at sea, contributing to strengthening mutual understanding and friendly feelings between the two countries.
Chairman of the CPPCC Wang Huning affirmed that China always considers relations with Vietnam as a priority direction in neighborly diplomacy; highly appreciates Vietnam's achievements in theoretical innovation, and always supports Vietnam in successfully building socialism in accordance with the country's situation.
Chairman of the Chinese National People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning proposed that the two sides firmly grasp the direction of bilateral relations development, jointly promote the cause of socialist modernization in each country; further strengthen strategic connectivity, especially prioritizing accelerating infrastructure connectivity, developing artificial intelligence, and digital economy; China is ready to expand imports of goods, especially high-quality agricultural products of Vietnam, and encourage businesses to expand investment and cooperate for mutual benefit in Vietnam.
Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning expressed that the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference is ready to further strengthen friendly relations with the Vietnam Fatherland Front, jointly encourage exchanges between all classes of people, especially the young generation, expand cooperation in education, health, local exchanges, and open a new chapter in friendly exchanges between the two countries; jointly support each other to organize well multilateral events, including APEC Year 2026 in China and APEC Year 2027 in Vietnam.
