At the invitation of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping and his wife, on the morning of April 14, General Secretary and President Su Lin and his wife, along with the high-level Vietnamese delegation, arrived in Beijing capital to begin a state visit to China from April 14-17.

At exactly 9:18 am on April 14 (local time), the special plane carrying General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with the high-level Vietnamese delegation, landed at Beijing International Airport.

Welcoming General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife along with the high-level Vietnamese delegation at Beijing International Airport were Politburo member, Secretary of the Beijing Party Committee Yunli; Member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Committee for Foreign Affairs Liaison, Communist Party of China Liu Haixing; Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei and his wife;

Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh and his wife; a large number of officials of the Vietnamese Embassy in China; representatives of the community and Vietnamese students in China.

Next, General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife moved along the red carpet, successively shaking hands with Chinese officials and Vietnamese officials, waving to representatives of the Vietnamese community and students in China.

This State visit to China by General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with the high-level Vietnamese delegation, marks a new beginning in bilateral relations as both countries enter a new stage of development: Vietnam enters a new era of development after the very successful XIV National Party Congress, China begins to implement the 15th Five-Year Socio-Economic Development Plan.

The visit is a very important occasion to enhance strategic cohesion and establish a new height for the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries. The highest leaders of the two Parties and the two countries will jointly identify new orientations and breakthroughs in economic and trade cooperation, investment and tourism, supply chain cooperation, production chain, education and training, science and technology, and strive to realize the goals and aspirations of each country's development.
