This morning (December 20), at the National Convention Center, Hanoi, the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the President, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense solemnly held the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day.
The 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day is a major event for the country and the Army. General Secretary To Lam - Secretary of the Central Military Commission - attended and delivered the commemorative speech.
Also attending the ceremony were Politburo members: President Luong Cuong; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Standing member of the Secretariat, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Tran Cam Tu; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien.
Attending the ceremony were Politburo members, Party Central Committee Secretaries, Party Central Committee members; leaders and former leaders of the Party and State.
The celebration began with the epic art program "80 years under the Victory Flag". The epic program consisted of two parts: Historical milestones and Under the Victory Flag.
Part 1 of the epic program with art performances: Selfless for the people; Firecracker chanting, On Him Lam hill, Dien Bien liberation; Uncle Ho is marching with us; Advancing to Saigon and the Country full of joy.
Part 2 includes the following art performances: Vietnam People's Army; Like Sunflowers; That Soldier; Pride of the Soldier; Heart's Command; On a Distant Island; Aspiration for Power; Under the Victory Flag.
According to the ceremony program, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam - Secretary of the Central Military Commission - awarded the Ho Chi Minh Medal to the Vietnam People's Army.
Before the ceremony, the delegation of leaders and former leaders of the Party, State and Army visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and commemorated the heroic martyrs.
Through 80 years of building, fighting, winning and growing, our Army has built a glorious tradition, summarized in the praise of President Ho Chi Minh: “Our Army is loyal to the Party, filial to the people, ready to fight and sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for socialism. Every mission is completed, every difficulty is overcome, every enemy is defeated.”
