The Party Central Committee Office has just issued Notice No. 19-TB/VPTW announcing the conclusion of General Secretary To Lam at the visit and congratulations to the health sector on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day at Huu Nghi Hospital.
The content of Notice No. 19-TB/VPTW clearly states: On February 27, 2026, General Secretary To Lam visited and congratulated the Health sector and the collective of officials, doctors, and staff of Huu Nghi Hospital on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day.
At the meeting, the General Secretary acknowledged, highly appreciated and praised the great and important achievements that the health sector has achieved in 71 years of construction and development. The health sector has continuously grown, overcome many difficulties and challenges, gradually building a widespread and increasingly modern health system, improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, making an important contribution to improving the health, life expectancy, and quality of life of the people, actively contributing to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.
The achieved results clearly show the political bravery, sense of responsibility and medical ethics of doctors, worthy of the good traditions of Vietnam's health sector.
In that common achievement, there is the contribution of Huu Nghi Hospital. The hospital has promoted tradition well, built a team with high professional qualifications, a sense of responsibility to successfully complete the task of caring for and protecting the health of middle and high-ranking officials of the Party, State and people; affirming the role of the hospital as an important and reputable medical facility of the health sector.
Regarding the direction and tasks for the coming time, in the current context, when the country enters a new stage of development, the requirements set for the health sector are increasingly high, especially in the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress and Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo on a number of breakthrough solutions, strengthening the protection, care and improvement of people's health, requiring the health sector to make more efforts, especially when people not only want to be treated, but also want to receive comprehensive health care; not only be treated well, but also want to be served with increasingly high quality, humaneness, and modernity.
To solve the challenges for the health sector today and in the coming years, continue to complete the goals, tasks, guidelines, and resolutions of the Party on the health sector, the health sector is required to coordinate with all levels and sectors to focus on leading and directing the good implementation of a number of key tasks as follows:
Continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on the work of caring for, protecting and improving people's health; steadfastly pursue the highest goal, which is to implement universal health care coverage, ensuring that every citizen has access to and uses medical services in a timely, quality and fair manner. No one is sick without being cared for. Do not let geographical distance, economic conditions or social circumstances become barriers to people's right to health care.
Constantly improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, taking patients as the center of all activities of the health sector and of each medical facility. Each hospital must be a place where patients come to with faith and leave with peace of mind. Each doctor must be a support for patients in the most difficult moments, that is the line of birth and death of a person's life.
Caring for building a team of medical staff who are solid in medical theory, proficient in medical techniques, bright in medical ethics, deep in responsibility, steadfast in bravery, and dedicated to patients, in which the heart and knowledge of medical staff are decisive factors; science, technology, and medical equipment are important foundations.
Promote the application of science, technology and digital transformation; innovate management methods, improve the operational efficiency of the health system to serve the people better, faster, more conveniently, and more effectively.
The Ministry of Health needs to focus on directing and creating conditions to build a comprehensively strong Friendship Hospital, developing in a modern, specialized direction, on par with advanced medical facilities in the country and the region to improve the quality of care and health protection for middle and high-ranking officials of the Party, State and many other subjects.
Regarding the recommendations and proposals of Huu Nghi Hospital, the Ministry of Health is assigned to base on the content and authority, proactively coordinate with relevant agencies to consider and decide; issues beyond authority should be reported to the Government or the Secretariat for direction and resolution.
