Deep feelings for the Party, the country and the people
On the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2026), celebrating the success of the 14th Party Congress and celebrating Binh Ngo Spring 2026, on the morning of February 4, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the Politburo and the Secretariat met with former members of the Party Central Committee of previous terms.
General Secretary To Lam; President Luong Cuong; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Member of the Politburo, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man; Member of the Politburo, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu chaired the meeting.
Also attending the meeting were former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; former members of the Politburo who are key leaders of the Party and State. Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam expressed that the trust and encouragement of former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, and former members of the Party Central Committee of previous terms is a solid spiritual support, adding strength for the incumbent generation of cadres to continue to move steadily and fulfill the responsibilities entrusted by the Party, State and people.
The General Secretary emphasized that the meaningful meeting took place right on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, further deepening pride and firm belief in the glorious revolutionary journey of the Party.
Each Congress is an important milestone showing the growth and maturity of our Party. The 14th Party Congress once again affirmed the truth: The correct leadership of the Party is the decisive factor in all victories of the Vietnamese revolution; our Party's renovation policy is correct, creative, and in line with reality and trends of the times.
Pleased to see that the work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system in the past time has continued to be comprehensively and synchronously promoted, going deeper, General Secretary To Lam stated clearly that in the coming time, the requirement is to continue to improve the leadership capacity, ruling capacity and combat strength of the Party; maintain solidarity and unity; tighten discipline and order; resolutely overcome the situation of avoidance, pushing and shoving, working in moderation; ensure that all correct policies are strictly and effectively implemented. Immediately after the 14th Party Congress, a series of key tasks of Party building work will be deployed synchronously.
Top priority for human development policies
The General Secretary said that the 14th Party Congress determined the determination to realize the two 100-year goals of the country, with specific and drastic policies and actions.
The General Secretary emphasized that for our country to become a developed country with high income by 2045, it must strive to achieve continuous growth rates at double digits throughout the upcoming period. This is an extremely difficult goal, but also an objective requirement, and also a measure of the bravery, will and aspiration for national development.
To implement these goals, it is necessary to immediately take action. The Politburo has set a goal: In the first quarter of 2026, it is necessary to complete the thorough grasp and implementation of the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress throughout the Party; in 2026, it is necessary to institutionalize and concretize all new viewpoints and core contents in the Documents of the 14th Party Congress.
Emphasizing the highest goal of all guidelines and policies is to constantly improve the material and spiritual life of the people, the General Secretary said that in the coming time, continue to give the highest priority to human development policies, ensuring that all people enjoy the fruits of development; persistently implement the viewpoint of comprehensive and inclusive development, "not leaving anyone behind".
