On the afternoon of January 23, immediately after the closing session of the 14th National Party Congress, at the Congress Press Center, General Secretary To Lam chaired a press conference to announce the results of the 14th Party Congress.
The 14th National Party Congress takes place from January 19 to January 23, 2026.
The theme of the Congress is "Under the glorious flag of the Party, joining hands and consensus to successfully implement the country's development goals to 2030; strategic autonomy, self-reliance, confidence, and strong progress in the era of national rise for peace, independence, democracy, prosperity, prosperity, civilization, happiness, steadily advancing towards socialism".
With the motto "Unity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development", the Congress identifies thinking, vision, and strategic decisions to make steady and strong progress in the new era, successfully implementing the country's development goals to 2030 when our Party celebrates its 100th anniversary of establishment (1930-2030); realizing the development vision to 2045, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (1945-2045).
The 14th Congress has a great historical mission, not only setting goals and orienting tasks for the 2026-2030 term, but also deciding strategic issues for the future and destiny of our nation in the coming decades.
Thereby, continuing to strongly arouse the aspiration for development, pride, and national self-reliance, unlocking all resources, all development motivations, promoting the strength of the people and the great national unity bloc combined with the strength of the times, comprehensively and synchronously promoting the cause of renovation, construction and defense of the Fatherland, successfully completing the goal of developing a strong country, standing shoulder to shoulder with the five continents as the wish of President Ho Chi Minh and the aspirations of our entire nation.
On the afternoon of January 22, the Congress conducted a vote to elect the 14th Central Committee of the Party, electing 200 members, including 180 official members and 20 alternate members.
On the morning of January 23, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the 14th Central Executive Committee of the Party held the first Conference to decide on particularly important issues, marking the beginning of the new term.
The first conference of the 14th Central Executive Committee of the Party completed particularly important contents:
(1) Elect the Politburo.
(2) Electing General Secretary.
(3) Electing the Secretariat.
(4) Listen to reports on the plan for key leadership positions of the Party and State and give opinions on personnel to hold the position of Standing Secretary of the Secretariat.
(5) Elect the Central Inspection Committee.
(6) Elect the Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee.
The 14th Central Executive Committee of the Party has absolutely unanimously elected Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the 13th Central Executive Committee of the Party to continue holding the position of General Secretary of the 14th Central Executive Committee of the Party.
