The 18th Hanoi Party Congress has 550 delegates attending, the oldest delegate is 79 years old, the youngest delegate is 31 years old.
According to the program, right after the opening ceremony, the Congress listened to the political report of the Hanoi Party Committee Executive Committee; Review report of the 18th City Party Committee Executive Committee, term 2020-2025. This afternoon, the Congress will elect the 18th Hanoi Party Executive Committee, term 2025-2030; The Presidium reports on the Personnel Project of the 18th Hanoi Party Executive Committee; The Congress votes on the number of the 18th Party Executive Committee; The Congress Presidium nominates a list of personnel prepared by the 17th Hanoi Party Executive Committee. After that, the Congress Presidium will meet with the heads of the Delegation groups....
At the adjournment session on the afternoon of October 15, the Congress approved the working program of the adjournment session; elected a Presidium of 16 delegates; a Secretariat of 3 delegates and a Delegation status Inspection Committee of 7 delegates.
The Congress approved the official working session and the Congress Working Regulations; disseminated voting regulations within the Party;
Listen to the Report on synthesizing opinions contributed to the draft documents submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party and implement a number of other important contents to prepare for the official session of the Congress.
Also in the adjournment session, the Congress announced the list of 11 Delegations and 11 Discussion Groups. In the afternoon, the Delegation groups met to disseminate the content, assign tasks and prepare for the official session.
Hanoi firmly pioneers on the journey of the new era
Dr. Nguyen Minh Phong - Deputy Director, Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Head of Economic Research Department - Hanoi Institute for Socio-Economic Development Research said that in recent times, Hanoi's economy has had a strong breakthrough, on average in the period of 2020-2025, GRDP in the capital is estimated to increase by an average of 6.57%/year, 1.1 times higher than the national growth rate at the same time. In 2024, GRDP increased by 6.52%; the first state budget revenue reached VND513 trillion, the highest in the country, an increase of nearly 28.3% compared to 2023.
It is expected that by the end of 2025, the economic scale of the capital will reach about 63 billion USD, 1.42 times higher than in 2020, accounting for 41.54% of the Red River Delta and 12.6% of the country. GRDP per capita is estimated at 175 million VND (~7,200 USD).
The economic structure has shifted positively; total social investment capital reached VND 2,508 trillion, 1.5 times higher than the previous term. Hanoi tourism welcomed 31 million visitors, including 7 million international visitors. For many consecutive years, Hanoi has been in the top 10-25 most attractive destinations in the world.
The city has also developed and implemented the Hanoi Capital Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 and the Project to adjust the general planning of Hanoi Capital to 2045, with a vision to 2065.
The public passenger transport system has made a major breakthrough when putting into operation the urban railway line 2A Cat Linh - Ha Dong and line 3 Nhon-ga Hanoi (the elevated section); opening new bus routes, putting into operation a number of electric bus routes.
The Ring Road 4 - Capital Region project is implemented according to Resolution No. 56/2022/QH15 dated June 16, 2022 of the National Assembly as a national key project...
